The Naga People's Front (NPF) is a regional political party in Nagaland and Manipur, India. It headed the Nagaland government with the Bharatiya Janata Party, as part of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland since 2003. Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu is the president of the party. The main leader of the NPF, Neiphiu Rio, is
the Lok Sabha member from the lone constituency of Nagaland. On March 22, 2004 the NPF absorbed the Nagaland Democratic Party.
From its inception as ‘Democratic Party of Nagaland’ in 1963, to Naga People’s Front today, the party had undergone change of nomenclature a number of times
to suit the demanding situation of the different periods. But the policy, principles and symbol, motto etc. remained unchanged, with the Latin catch word - 'Fide non Armis', meaning by faith, not by arms, as its guiding principle for solving the indo-Naga problem.
